Congratulations to Recent IDM Graduates

Students participating in the April 27 GSPH Convocation were: Ke-Chuang Wu, August 2008 MPH-Community & Behavioral Intervention concentration, Jennifer Lucado, April 2008 MPH-Bioscience of Infectious Diseases concentration, Suzy Hecker, April 2008 MPH-Community & Behavioral Intervention concentration, Shaylee O'Leary, June 2008 MS, Ashley Conley, June 2008 MS, Krisztina Baglyas, June 2008 MS, and Amar Pegu, August 2007 PhD.

Other IDM students completing their degree program this June and August include: Monica Tomaszewski-Flick, PhD Candidate in the laboratory of Dr. David Rowe, Sherrianne Gleason, PhD Candidate in the laboratory of Dr. Simon Barratt-Boyes, Jill Montgomery, PhD Candidate in the laboratory of Dr. Frank Jenkins, and Shauna Clark, PhD Candidate in the laboratory of Dr. John Mellors.

Congratulations to Delta Omega Outstanding Thesis/Defense Awardees

Each year departments at GSPH select & nominate one outstanding master's level thesis, MS or MPH, and one outstanding doctoral dissertation, DrPH or PhD. This year's nominees & winners are Jing Jin and Lance Presser. Jing graduated in December of 2007 and is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University. Her dissertation was titled "Regulation of Gag Trafficking During Retrovirus Assembly and Building" and completed under the guidance of her advisor Dr. Ronald Montelaro. Lance was a 2007 graduate and completed his thesis, "Detection of HHV-8 in Autopsy Samples from AIDS Patients" under the guidance of Dr. Frank Jenkins, his advisor. He will begin his second year in the PhD program at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, IL in the fall.
